Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the permitted and prohibited uses of the Thalian platform ("Service"). All users must comply with this policy in addition to our Terms of Service.

2. Permitted Use

The Service is designed for IT teams to manage, monitor, and secure their organization's IT environment. Permitted uses include:

  • Connecting your organization's identity providers, endpoint managers, and SaaS applications
  • Reviewing AI-generated findings and security insights
  • Taking remediation actions on accounts, applications, and devices within your organization
  • Generating reports and tracking security posture over time
  • Using the AI assistant to query your workspace data
  • Exporting data for compliance, audit, or archival purposes

3. Prohibited Use

You may not use the Service to:

Security and Abuse

  • Attempt to access data belonging to other workspaces or tenants
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without authorization
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security mechanisms
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service beyond its intended API

Data and Content

  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Store data unrelated to IT infrastructure management
  • Use the Service to process data you do not have authorization to access
  • Connect integrations using credentials that do not belong to your organization

AI Misuse

  • Attempt to extract training data or model weights from the AI engine
  • Use the AI assistant to generate harmful, abusive, or misleading content
  • Manipulate AI prompts to bypass security controls or access controls
  • Use AI-generated findings as the sole basis for legal or regulatory action without independent verification
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Use the Service to facilitate unauthorized surveillance of individuals
  • Process personal data in a manner inconsistent with applicable data protection laws

4. Resource Limits

  • API rate limits and usage quotas are enforced per plan tier
  • Excessive usage that degrades the Service for other users may result in throttling
  • Free plan limits (25 identities, 3 integrations) are enforced automatically

5. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning and request to correct the behavior
  • Temporary suspension of access
  • Permanent termination of the account
  • Legal action where appropriate

We will attempt to notify you before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or other users.

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to security@thalian.ai.
